This DASSA and Dubai Sports Council approved event, sponsored by Kibsons International, allows students to compete against each other and as a school team over a 3 race series. Hosted by Rashid School for Boy’s Secondary Section in Nad Al Sheba and organised by Super Sports Events, students will enjoy an action packed afternoon of swimming and running.

ENTRY FEE:

  • Check with your school if they have not entered a team and join then otherwise enter as an individual.
  • AED50/- per person per race.
  • Any participants cancelling their participation after the closing date or who is a “no-show” on the day of the race will not receive a refund.
  • In the unfortunate event of the race having to have to be cancelled due to weather or venue issues, all entries will be credited to the next race date.

ENTRIES CLOSE:
Entries close the Wednesday before each race.

SCHOOL TEAM COMPETITION

  • The top 3 finishers per school, per race, per gender will score points for their school on the day and as an overall series result.
  • Individual finishing positions of the top 3 finishers from the same school will be added up and the school with the lowest total will win the team competition for that race day and the same for 2nd, 3rd
  • Trophies will be awarded to the top ranked schools per category per gender and as an overall school taking all team rankings into consideration upon the conclusion of the Series.

GENERAL RULES & REGULATIONS:

  • Competitors must compete in the uniforms from their school – PE kits and swim suits and swim caps.
  • In order to make it fair for all competitors – as not everyone has a tri suit – all competitors must put on their schools PE short and shirt before exiting transition.
  • Competitors are not allowed to receive assistance from anyone else outside the race, with the exception of race-sanctioned aid volunteers or official marshals.
  • Competitors should treat race officials, event volunteers, spectators and other competitors with respect and courtesy. Failure to do so may result in disqualification.
  • The race organisers have the right to alter the course depending on weather conditions. It is the athlete’s responsibility to ensure they know the route.
  • Marshals and volunteers will be on the course to aid athletes in their direction.

SWIM RULES

  • The swim direction will be in a clockwise direction in each lane.
  • Corresponding race numbers to your chip will be body marked on your right upper arm.
  • No artificial propulsion device, including but not limited to fins, gloves, paddles, or floating devices of any kind shall be used.
  • Swimmers may use any stroke to propel themselves through the water, and may tread water or float.
  • A participant may stand on the bottom or rest by holding an inanimate object such as a buoy, rope or floating object.
  • A swimmer experiencing difficulty and in need of assistance must raise an arm overhead, pump it up and down, and call or seek assistance.
  • Swimmers, who have received assistance, whether voluntary or involuntary, must retire and withdraw from the remainder of the race, unless such assistance did not aid the swimmer in making forward progress.
  • No swimmer shall return to the race if the official rendering assistance requests that the participant withdraws from the race or receive medical assistance.

TRANSITION RULES

  • This is the area where you change from your swimming gear to your running gear.
  • This is an area specific for competitors with no spectators, coaches or parents allowed to enter while a race is in progress.
  • In order to make it fair for all competitors – as not everyone has a tri suit – all competitors must put on their schools PE short and shirt before exiting transition.
  • All gear you would like to transition in to, any food and drinks you wish to consume, needs to be laid out before the start of your race in this area.
  • No food or drinks will be allowed out of the transition area
  • Competitors need to be covered at all times by the time of exiting the transition area

RUN RULES

  • Running will be in a clockwise direction once exiting the transition area.
  • Your upper body must be covered at all times on the run portion of the race.
  • Shoes are compulsory.
  • No form of locomotion other than running, walking or crawling is allowed.
  • No external assistance is allowed

RACE NUMBERS:

  • Will be body marked on your left arm
  • Chips to be worn on your left ankle with number facing outward.

FOOD & BEVERAGES: Will be on sale at the school.

END-OF-RACE PROCEDURES:

  • When crossing the finish line, keep moving through the finish schute.
  • Return your timing chip to designated marshal or collection box.
  • Prize Giving will follow as soon as possible once all athletes are finished.

PRIZE GIVING:

  • The presentation will take place as soon as possible after the last competitor is in from the respective race category.
  • Full results will be on the Super Sports website as soon as possible at supersportsevents.me
  • Medals for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places will be awarded per race.
